Traditional Log Cabin – Exterior Log Wall – Fire Characteristics and Prediction Using Analysis of Thermos-Technical Properties

Abstract

The Article describes the fire resistance (FR) experiment of three fragments of exterior log walls with different gap adjustments between the log elements. The aim is to verify the impact of the gap adjustment for achieving the criterion of fire resistance of the insulation (I). The experiment also includes theoretical analysis of U-values of the walls and the temperatures on the unexposed side of fire at a standard temperature of 1000 ℃. The aim is to verify the prediction of the I criterion for standard fire resistance tests of a construction.
