Common Orbital Disorders in Children

Orbital lesions in children range from simple cysts to life threatening tumors. They can affect both the visual function and/or result in cosmetic disfigurement. The pediatric orbit is shallower and its structures are more vulnerable than in adults. Proper diagnosis and management may require the cooperation between ophthalmologists, pediatricians and radiologists.
