Abstract

Perennial wetland herb, 30–80 cm high, erect, poorly ramified above. With underground tuber and sword-like leaves, the basal leaf obtuse. Tall stalks bear purple-red flowers collected in one-sided inflorescence, with strongly curved flower tube. Clonal plant.
