Abstract

This chapter examines the process by which new digital methods are reconciled with traditional library services and collections. Emphasizing the shift from scarcity to abundance of information, and how the privileging of authorship and ownership is gradually being replaced by an ideal of information sharing and remixing, Ammerman assesses the impact of such transformations on our ways of conceptualizing knowledge.
