  • Mary Mee-Yin Yuen
Part of the Religion and Global Migrations book series (RGM)

In the concluding chapter, Yuen affirms the importance of integrating a virtue ethics approach with the principles-based approach in Catholic social ethic in order to motivate and guide the Catholic community of Hong Kong to address the needs of the marginalized migrants and to actualize the moral vision of sustaining a good and just society. She makes a summary of her work, pointing out the special features of the Catholic human rights theory and the elements of the virtue ethics approach. Yuen also delineates her reflections on the commonalities and differences between the Catholic and Confucian ethical traditions for mutual enrichment. This will be useful in formulating a more contextualized and inculturated Catholic social ethics for the Hong Kong-Chinese Catholics.
