This chapter introduces the concept of progressive controls and adjustments to be done along the various phases of the guitar construction, in order to achieve a target quality. An example is given, demonstrating how—in four soundboards—the main resonance evolved from bare board through the progressive steps of adding rosette, bridge, braces, and gluing to sides.
