Study on the Energy Dissipation of Two Lane Traffic Flow with Lane Reduction
In this paper, a two-lane model with partial reduced lane was simulated based on the Kerner-Klenov-Wolf (KKW) cellular automaton model. In the traffic system with periodic boundary condition, the synchronized flow was investigated by local measurements of the density and flow in the KKW model near the entry of the reduced lane. And the length of the reduced lane and the maximum speed and the vehicle length are studied, respectively. The results show that the partial lane reduction strongly reduces the road capacity, and increases the energy dissipation. Moreover, the open boundary condition is given to analyze. The results implied that the injection rate as well as the removal rate has obvious influence on the energy dissipation.
