ISA and Mentoring for the Individual Teacher

Abstract

This chapter sets out to consider the application of ISA for individual teachers with a particular focus on existing approaches to professional development. Ideas around professional development strategies at the individual teacher level will be considered, along with the notion of the development of professional identity. The way that ISA can inform future approaches, leads from the previous chapter, with the emphasis on structured approaches to mentoring and coaching for individual teachers, particularly those who are at risk of leaving the profession.
