Reinvigorating the EU Project

  • John TheodoreEmail author

This chapter looks at ways to reinvigorate the “European Project”, even as the EU Parliamentary elections of 2019 transform the political complexion of the EU and Eurozone. Since 2016, Brexit has been a wake-up call for both the institutions of the EU, which has not been able to absorb its economic and existential traumas. But this chapter aims to set the record straight on what has been achieved in the EU, both long-term and in recent years, and examines those issues that remain to be addressed—however challenging.
