Advantages of Sonography in Fillers and Complications

  • Fernanda A. Cavallieri

Injection of cosmetic fillers is one of the most commonly performed procedures in dermatology nowadays. As its usage is expanding, complications are also increasing. Ultrasonography is capable of identifying previous fillers as well as assisting in the evaluation and follow-up of possible adverse effects. This chapter will cover sonographic patterns used to identify the most used cosmetic fillers and the most frequent complications that can occur after injection.
