As the world’s resources become increasingly scarce with the passage of time and increase in population, different theories emerge as to which avenues of remedy would be most effective. Privatization of the world’s natural resources has been occurring for a millennia. However, as social, political, and economic systems have emerged and faded throughout history, there has been a greater push for privatization. Currently, as the world’s population passes the six billion mark and environmental degradation continues to occur, some advocate privatization as a solution to many of the world’s problems.
