Research Methods and Solutions to Current Transport Problems (ISCT21 2019)

Abstract

Road signs as an important component of road infrastructure have an impact on the safety of the road users. Conducting research in this area is an important element of work in the field of improving road safety. In Poland, as in the world, there are analyzes conducted of the experimental signs and markings, which are unspecified in the applicable law, but meeting the technical conditions of conventional (standard) signs. The current researches point to the importance of psychological aspects regarding the effectiveness of marking. The presented analyzes are the result of a project implemented by the Motor Transport Institute as part of a project financed by the National Centre for Research and Development and the General Directorate of National Roads and Motorways (Agreement No. DZP/RID-I-36/5/NCBR/2016).
