Abstract

In attempting to map the way forward, this chapter revisits the main findings and arguments presented in the study and use them to further contextualize and argue for greater attention to the ways in which dominant responses to security and violence affect citizenship. I consider the implications of the study with regards to state legitimacy, the transformation of state power and the localization of citizenship rights. I also provide policy-relevant conclusions.
