The Structure of the Theories of Physics

Abstract

The mechanistic point of view that the ultimate scope of Physics is to “explain” the whole of the physical world and the numerous phenomena in it, is no longer widely acceptable and hides behind it cosmogonic and theocratic beliefs. It is rather safer to say that nowadays we believe that Physics describes the physical phenomena by means of “pictures”, which are constructed according to strictly defined procedures.
