Introduction: Development of the Study of Spin Exchange from a Bird’s Eye View

Abstract

A phenomenological representation of spin exchange in bimolecular collisions of paramagnetic particles and manifestations of spin exchange in the form of EPR spectra are given. Two periods in the study of spin are distinguished: early (widespread) and modern. The main theoretical and experimental results that led to a change in the spin exchange paradigm are listed.
