Abstract

As Wells’s two sons grew up he became deeply involved in their education and in the theory of education more broadly, as manifested in the non-fiction and fiction he wrote in the later nineteen-teens: the novels Joan and Peter (1918); The Undying Fire (1919) and non-fiction Socialism and the Scientific Motive (1923); The Story of a Great Schoolmaster (1924).
