China has risen to become a global economic powerhouse and force to reckon with. Its economic growth has come to reshape the global economy. This is especially true for countries such as Zambia, where China has come to influence the political, economic, and social setup. Regardless of the commonly held views and perceptions concerning Zambia’s bilateral relations with China, it cannot be denied that the ties between Lusaka and Beijing are possibly the most pragmatic example of an all-weather friendship on the African continent. At a glance, Zambia and China seem to be outstandingly dissimilar in many aspects. However, these two, when looked at closely enough, offer a revelation that they have striking similarities, which include a shared and common long history of close relations and development cooperation.
