Abstract

A common input problem in seismic data acquisition is to facilitate the wide dynamic range. In order to address the issue we have developed the new low-cost standalone portable data acquisition system based on a 24-bit analog-to-digital converter featuring low-power consumption. The new device is built on a modular-block principle allowing one to flexibly change the number of completely independent input data channels and the type/model of a controller so to meet the specific requirements of tasks being solved. A working prototype of the data acquisition system as an extension board for the Raspberry Pi 3 microcomputer is presented. The system has been initially designed for operation in the mobile seismic stations.
