Abstract

A thorough understanding of penile, scrotal, and perineal anatomy is essential for reconstructive urologists as well as trainees. Surgeons must be aware of the intricacies of each structure’s anatomy in order to successfully navigate reconstructive procedures and troubleshoot should the procedure require an alternative operative approach. This chapter will outline the anatomy of the penis, scrotum, and perineum focusing on the anatomic essentials of the most common reconstructive urologic procedures. Although detailed surgical techniques and indications will be covered in later chapters, this chapter will highlight important concepts with high quality, high resolution operative images during such common reconstructive surgeries.
