Abstract
Thrombocytopenia is a common hematologic abnormality encountered during perioperative testing. Severe thrombocytopenia and platelet dysfunction may increase the bleeding risk of surgery. Identifying thrombocytopenia and determining the etiology in the perioperative period are important to reduce the risk of surgical complications.
