Feminism and Environmentalism in Dialogue with the 15M and the New Political Cycle in Spain

  • Yayo Herrero

The radical critique developed by the feminist and environmental movements has not been sufficiently internalized in the present-day political imaginary, nor has it led to any political proposals to address the crisis of the environment and of social reproduction. Faced with an economic system which generates poverty and vulnerability, as well as a cultural frame which remains unaware of the unavoidable relations of interdependence and ecodependence which define the human species, the ecofeminist perspective has to be assimilated as an indispensable step for survival.
