Abstract

In 1950, Krueger implanted the first modern shoulder prosthesis [1]. From those days the study of biomechanics and materials has led to better and better results. Even for the most experienced surgeon, however, the most difficult and interesting challenge is the indication to prosthetics. “When to do surgery?” remains the unavoidable question for an excellent surgical result.
