Delayed Management of Acute Burn Wounds in Rural Areas of Low-Income Countries: Global Burn Surgery

Abstract

Early management of acute burns lead to satisfactory results and reduce incidence of scar contracture. Lack or delayed surgical management (debridement and skin grafting) over 3 weeks period is one of the main factors which contribute to scar contracture and hypertrophic scars.
