This book has been mostly about the mechanics of product development; the concept of product evolution, its stages of development, and a process for planning design activities that promote that evolution. All of these things are meant to help you become better designers. At some point, however, the mechanics of product development fade into the background and our natural design instincts and experience take over. That’s not to say the mechanics are ignored, it simply means that our design intuition becomes well-aligned with the fundamental mechanics of the process.
