Playful Pedagogy: Autoethnography in the Anthropocene
This inquiry-driven, autoethnographic essay is a theoretical project rooted in its author’s higher education pedagogy which collaborates with a multiplicity of objects and ontologies. By playfully reveling in the decentralization of the anthro- within the auto- of autoethnography, Hammoor’s performative essay vibrates with Barad’s challenge that ‘language has been granted too much power’ (Journal of Women in Culture and Society 28(3): 801–831, 2003) through a diffractive exploration of a surprising, materialist intervention in the philosophy classroom. It is simultaneously troubled by the potentialities of contaminating agencies with language and the sharing of a performative, posthuman praxis that thrives in the fantastic now.
