Thermodynamics in Chemical Reactions Engineering

Abstract

Some theory of the thermodynamics in chemical engineering is given in this section. The chapter starts with an explanation of the reaction rate and its dependence on temperature followed by the derivation of the van’t Hoff equation and Arrhenius equation. A detailed formulation of the chemical potential is then derived and statistical implications of the Boltzmann distribution law are explained.
