Abstract
This chapter presents the design and simulation of Fuzzy Proportional Integral (PI) controller used to maximize the power transfer of a standalone Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS). The Fuzzy-PI controller, applied to WECS for MPPT, improves well the system performance in comparison with the classical PI controller. Indeed, this proposed controller allows to obtain a good responses by adjusting the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator’s (PMSG) rotor speed under variation of the wind speed. The computer simulation results, in Matlab/Simulink environment, presented in this paper, show the effectiveness and the good performances of the proposed designed system.
