Abstract
The Kleinert Kutz Hand Care Center in Louisville, Kentucky, specializes in reattaching parts removed by modern agricultural machinery. Vessels smaller than a mechanical pencil lead are routinely joined. Hand transplants are among the first composite tissue transplant procedures to demonstrate that the human immune system can be held at bay.
