Abstract

The upper Pliocene rocks in Iran cannot be distinguished from those of lower Quaternary owing to the same dominant environment conditions. In this context, some geological events started from the late Pliocene and continued through the early Quaternary such as sedimentation of Hezardarreh Formation of the Alborz and Bakhtiari Conglomerate of the Zagros whose lower parts has been assigned to the late Pliocene and the upper Part to the early Quaternary.
