Auto-ethnography, Visual Sociology, Photography and Quantum Connections: 1990s to Present
The 1990s, along with the development of peacemaking criminology, was a time for Richard to begin his return home, to the “old place.” Resettling at Northern Illinois University in the 1980s, some 60 miles away from the family farm, he was to engage more intensely on self-discovery, the meaning of it all, a quest for understanding. The 80s and 90s marked multiple forms of expression. Toward this end we witness his informal and formal writings in auto-ethnography, visual sociology, photography, and to engage some connections between Eastern Philosophy and quantum mechanics. He developed his own publishing company where he published his work, unrestrained by the constraints of publishing companies and dogma of conventional thinking, books that were bound in the old traditional cloth style.
