Abstract

Epidemiology is a data-driven discipline that relies on a systematic and unbiased approach to the collection, analysis and interpretation of data. This chapter deals with both the major measures and methods to carry out epidemiological investigations: surveillance and descriptive studies to study distribution and analytical studies to study the determinants and risk factors.
