Abstract
The question is: Can policy makers prepare and enforce demands in such a way that companies are able to develop new technologies? And if so, how? Environmental policy is discussed from the perspective of technology developers, the innovators. It is shown that uncertainty about policy preparation and enforcement are the key factors involved in the supply of environmental innovations.
