Accurate interpretation of cardiac CT studies requires detailed knowledge of cardiac anatomy, including that of the coronary arteries, coronary veins, cardiac chambers, cardiac valves, and pulmonary veins. In addition to routine axial, sagittal, and coronal views, cardiac radiologists should be familiar with the standard cardiac planes that can be generated from CT data sets that are analogous to those obtained with echocardiography and MRI.
