Endocrine therapies for breast cancer

Abstract

Endocrine therapy is the most elegant form of treatment for breast cancer as it uses the body’s own mechanisms to fight the cancer and is less invasive or toxic than other methods. The ‘mechanisms’ behind this treatment give an insight into the nature of breast cancer, and so may lead to better understanding of the causes of the disease and thus the possibility of preventing it.
