Abstract

People with motor impairments generally experience a partial or total loss of function of a body part and are affected by chronic pain, poor stamina, muscle weakness, lack of muscle control, or paralysis.1 These impairments impact millions of people but there has been very little research into the exact number. Microsoft commissioned the last major study, based in the United States, and found that roughly 7% of working age adults have a severe dexterity difficulty that would likely force them to seek alternative methods for navigating the Web.2
