Abstract
The twin pillars of physics rest on solid ground. In their respective domains general relativity and the Standard Model have passed all experimental tests. Anything beyond these pillars is — to a lesser or greater extent — speculation. Any claim made for physics beyond these pillars has to be taken with a grain (and often a bushel) of salt. As mapmakers of old used to write on the unexplored regions of their charts: here be dragons!
