Abstract
The world is in a state of change. The following decades will be dominated by shortages in food and energy and also by environmental concerns. The so-called untapped or underemployed natural resources, forgotten until a short time ago, are now being listed by a large number of countries, giving rise to a certain competition as to their possible use as food or energy.
