Update on early ovarian cancer and cancer developing in benign ovarian tumors
Because advances in therapy have failed to make a significant impact on the survival of patients with ovarian cancer, recent attention has been devoted to early detection of this disease in the hope of improving survival. Very little is known, however, about the clinicopathological features of early ovarian cancer and whether early diagnosis and treatment will result in a major improvement in prognosis.
