Keeping a Balance — Specialised Analyses
Abstract
Techniques available for the estimation of the levels of naturally occurring and administered compounds are becoming ever more complex, Such increases in the complexity of the reaction involved may result in the operator time increasing, or in the equipment required for carrying out the test being very sophisticated or indeed both. In some cases, however, relatively complex reaction sequences may be carried out simultaneously and rapidly and the operator involvement may be simplified. The costing of tests can be considered in terms of recurrent expenditure — staff, reagents etc. and non-recurrent apparatus.
