Microvasculature of the Sheep Thymus
The thymus plays a crucial role in T lymphocyte production and differentiation. It has been suggested that lymphocytes become mature while passing through the cortex to the medulla of the thymus (1,2) and then emigrate to the peripheral lymphoid tissues via either blood (3,4) or lymphatic pathways from the medulla (5-7).
