Three-Dimensional Study of Evoked Field Potentials in the Auditory Cortex of the Cat

Abstract
Both evoked potential studies (Woolsey, 1961) and single cell investigations (Brugge and Merzenich, 1971) demonstrated the tono-topic organization of the auditory cortex of the cat. Less attention was paid to the distribution and alterations of field potentials in different subrégions of the auditory cortex in behavioral situations and to mechanisms underlying the observed changes of these evoked responses.
