Refractory Ceramics in Energy Conservation
Chapter
Abstract
Long before there was an energy crisis, refractory ceramic materials were used to maximize fuel efficiency. Admittedly, energy conservation factors were tercentenary to productivity gains and cost reductions. Productivity and cost were the prime reasons for the use of refractory ceramics. In the last 13 months the world’s awareness of the “energy crisis” has put energy savings and utilization as the major reason for the use of refractory ceramics.
