Television Camera Tube Performance Data and Calculations
Chapter
Abstract
New and different types of television camera tubes are becoming available at an ever increasing rate. While these new sensors must inevitably lead to improved imaging systems, the process of sensor selection becomes more demanding and, should the traditional methods of competitive laboratory evaluation be followed, costs will become prohibitive to all but the largest laboratories. To evaluate a single new developmental sensor can often require an investment of tens of thousands of dollars and many months of time with no assurance that the result of measuring a single sample will be representative.
