Abstract

Whenever we use experimental data to obtain some quantity we will during this process be presented with the problem of assessing the relative and absolute reliability of our data. In general we will assign an error to each observation and use this error in the mathematical analysis. For an observed squared structure amplitude F obs 2 we estimate an error σ (F obs 2 ).
