Abstract

The measurement of urinary pregnanediol and pregnanetriol are of clinical importance. Methods used previously have generally depended on the formation of sulfuric acid chromogens after purification of the steroid (1–3). The color reaction with sulfuric acid is non-specific and for pregnanediol, sensitivity is poor. We therefore have used GLC for the measurement of pregnanediol and pregnanetriol in urine extracts.
