Neutral Proteinases of Bovine Liver

Abstract

The activity of neutral proteinases was found in many tissues and in different subcellular fractions. In the literature there exist reports on the activity of neutral proteinases in homogenates of rat liver, spleen, muscles (1), bone marrow (2), etc. Neutral proteinases were found in the nuclear fractions of different tissues — in the rat liver (3), in the nuclei of calf thymus (4), then in the mitochondrial fraction (5) and in the lysosomal fraction of rat liver (6), in the granules of polymorphonuclear leucocytes (7), in the peroxysomal fraction of rat liver (8), etc. Some neutral proteinases were isolated and partly characterized — from the brain of rats (9), the brain cortex of guinea pigs (10), rabbit skin (11) and elsewhere.
