Abstract

A measure µ is nonnegative unless otherwise qualified. If µ is complex then L|µ| is the measure defined by the equation:
$$\left| \mu \right|\left( E \right) = \sup \left\{ {\sum\limits_{{n = 1}}^{\infty } {\left| {\mu \left( {{{E}_{n}}} \right)} \right|:\left\{ {{{E}_{n}}} \right\}_{{n = 1}}^{\infty }} } \right. $$
