Aerosols and Inhaler Therapy

Abstract

In addition to choosing appropriate medication for the treatment of patients with asthma, clinicians must also choose the best method for delivering the medication to the lungs. With recent advances in medications, an array of inhalation devices and methods are available to deliver these new medications. In addition, as more inhalation devices become available, clinicians must not only recognize the difference between types of delivery systems but also which delivery system will be optimal for each particular patient.
