Abstract

These karyotypes are gifts of Dr. U. Arnason, Lund, Sweden and come from fibrous tissue cultures. Two males and three females were studied with similar results. A marked secondary constriction is found in the short arms of the first autosome which contains a broad C-band. These karyotypes. Q-bands and C-bands have been published by Arnason. The X was identified in autoradiographs of female cells and comprises 5.5% of the female haploid set; the Y is 2% (A + X). Tiny C-bands are limited to the centromeres, except in the constriction of the first autosome.
