Abstract

Dr. S. Sideman: It is interesting to consider the interaction of physiology and technology. We are at a stage wherein technology is being used to manipulate physiology for information as well as for therapeutics. Obviously a lot of new techniques have saved a lot of lives, but so did modern biology and gene therapy, including biochemistry. I have the feeling that we need more manipulation of physiology by chemical as well as mechanical, physical, means.
